Things to See & Do

Think Pemberton, think Karri Forest -  THINK AGAIN. While the Karri forest may be the backdrop, Pemberton offers great diversity within a very small area.

This page is full of ideas for things to do and see on your holiday. You can also find more detailed information on many of these activities, tours and special places available using the thumbnails to the right or the table list at the bottom of this page.

Pemberton Visitor Centre
Make the visitor centre your first stop in town. Located in the main street and housing the Pemberton Visitor Centre and Pemberton Pioneer Museum, this is your "one stop shop" for all information, accommodation and tour bookings.    You can pick up local maps and guides, find out the best place to eat and what to see. Come and see us and make your visit more enjoyable and rewarding.

Pemberton Tours
Please search through our Tours. You can ride a tram, hire a bike, join a cruise, or 4wd through the forest and to the sand dunes. If you would like to do some hiking or canoeing there is a tour guide for you!

Tempt The Tastebuds and Pamper the Body

Jams and preserves made from home grown fruit and berries, oils, lotions, and creams are all available and made here in Pemberton. On your leisurely drives lookout for roadside stalls offering fresh fruit and vegetables. We carry a range of local products at the Pemberton Visitor Centre come and select your favourites. Our local masseuse is fabulous but book in advance for your stay!

Golf

Choose from RAC Karri Valley Resorts putt putt to the challenging eighteen hole, sand green at the Pemberton Golf Course.

Swimming and Picnics at Big Brook Dam
Safe swimming and a magnificent setting can be found at Big Brook Dam located 5 minutes from town. The dam is surrounded by Karri forest and there is a sandy beach area which is great for swimming. BBQ facilities, tables and toilets are there and if you are feeling energetic you can do the 4km walk around the dam.

Pemberton Pool

The Pemberton Pool is a great venue to relax amongst the Karri Trees. Located within the town boundary it is just a short drive (or walk) from the Visitor Centre. The Pemberton Mountain Bike Park trailhead is located at the Pemberton Pool, so be sure to take your mountain bike and enjoy this great facilitiy. Walking trails through the forest are also accessible from here. Bike hire is available to be booked in advance, and panniers are available for going on the Munda Biddi Trail or hitting the wineries.

...and for the One That Can't Get Away

Pemberton's cool climate and abundant fresh water make it ideal for raising trout and marron (a local freshwater crayfish). You can purchase your marron or trout direct from the farms or catch your own trout in the creeks, brooks and rivers. See Dave Evans at Forest Fresh Marron on Pumphill Road Pemberton for trout and marron.

Pemberton has become synonymous with fine wine. Wine Tours are available all year, so visitors can sit back and relax while their "chauffer" takes them on a tour to some of Pembertons finest wineries.
