MOUNTAIN BIKE SKILLS PARK
The mountain bike skills park has two elements; the Dirt Jumps and the Cross Country Skills Loop. Future plans include a pump track and a cross country skills area with technical trail features. These cater for a range of riders from the novice to the experienced.
Jump Track Rider level: Intermediate to Expert
The jump track is located at the start of the Cross Country Skills Loop. A fun and energetic long flowing jump track, featuring jumps with berms to keep the speed when required. This trail is designed to cater for intermediate riding levels at the introductory jumps and finishing with the Pro Line suited to experts. Jump face heights range from 0.8m to 1.5 m.
CROSS COUNTRY TRAILS
The three purpose built cross country single tracks cater for the novice to experienced riders.
Cross Country Skills Loop Trail: Rider level: Beginner to Expert
The flowing Cross Country Skills Loop Trail at 1.5km has been designed to provide a range of riding experiences to develop riders abilities including cornering, negotiating technical tight features, log rollovers and rolling jumps. The skills loop trail western section is also the return trail for the jump trails.
Cool Running XC Mtb Track: Rider level: Beginner to Expert
Cool Running is a Beginner to Expert cross country track that commences at the top of Block A. This is a Green Trail with lots of berms and bumps. Go slow and steady, pump on the way down or hammer it and rail the berms and find plenty of air time on your descent. Excellent value, your grin say's it all.
Relentless Blue XC Track (one way only)
The Relentless Blue XC Track at 4.5km long incorporates the lay of the land in a clockwise direction. The western side of the hill is designed as the main climb, but has a series of ups and downs with some hard technical elements. The western side has a series of turns, rock gardens, log rollovers, sharp uphill and downhill style trail design. The eastern face of the hill is a distinct downhill with minimal climbing. The trail has a series of technical trail features, timber and earth berms, log rollovers and jumps on the main trail. The first km is a hard technical climb with the corkscrew, switchbacks and log rollovers, the downhill section is fast and good value. Commence at the Perberton Pool carpark and follow the Switchback Green Link Trail up onto Woodcutters Track. Turn left and head down towards the Pemberton Marron and Trout Hatchery. Just before the hatchery on the right is the start of Relentless Blue.
Other Rides
Trevor's Trail to Golflinks Road (multi-use) (Beginner to Expert)
Walkers have right of way- riders give way
The easiest section is located along the western side of the pool. It is a narrow track with a series of ups and downs with great views of Swimming Pool Brook and the hillside. Return the same way or come back along the lower section of the Cross Country Skills Loop.
Trevors Trail Circuit (suitable for more confident beginner riders) (Beginner to expert)
The fire trail heading up to the top of the hill is a harder climb with two options from the top of the hill to return back to the pool area. For both rides commence at the Pemberton Pool Carpark and follow the Switchback Green Link Trail up onto the Woodcutters Track. Turn letf on the Woodcutters Track and head down to the Pemberton Marron and Trout Hatchery. At the Hatchery turn right and head up the fire trail to the top of the hill.
Two Return Options:
Option A The western boundary following the fence line picking up the Woodcutters Track is teh steepest with a long downhill run down to Golflinks Road. Return via Trevor's Track on the western side of the pool to the car park. Maintain control of your bike as you descend.
Option B The Woodcutters track also continues heading off to the right on the fire trail. This takes you back to the Switchback Green Link Trail. This heads downhill with a shorter downhill section. Maintain control of your bike as you descend.
