PEMBERTON ARTS GROUP

"The Pemberton Arts Group is committed to promoting excellence and cultural opportunities through the Arts. We aim to encourage emerging artists, support our members and creat an Arts culture within the local community."

The Pemberton Arts Group was formed in 2004 by a group of local Pemberton artists to celebrate artistic endeavour with regular exhibitions of fine art and photography for the benefit of the Pemberton community and visitors to the region.

PAG encourages other artistic disciplines such as music and writing.

PAG hosts 2 major exhibitions annually, both becoming important local events attracting artists from the south west, as well as growing numbers of appreciative visitors and buyers.

In addition, PAG, in collaboration with the Pemberton Wine Centre, also hosts four exhibitions each year, regularly showcasing works by our members. At times, we also feature invited artists as in the past, John Garde & Su Berghuis-Garde, Dawn Brittain, John Gibson and the Botanical Artists Group of WA.

PAG also maintains ever-changing exhibitions of members’ works displayed at the Pemberton Visitors Centre, Gloucester Motel and at LJ Hooker.

PAG aims to continue to provide opportunities and to inspire artists through the “Last Sunday” initiative. Once a month, members can bring their cameras, art, picnic or just themselves to enjoy the ambience and take the opportunity to network with their peers at various inspiring locations.

With a commitment to provide learning opportunities for both emerging and established artists, PAG have facilitated workshops on portraiture and drawing under the tutelage of talented artists such as Mark Grey-Smith, John Garde and Su Berghuis-Garde.

The PAG membership has grown to around 60 and includes professional artists as well as supporters of the arts.
